Introduction of the course
"Teaching in primary and secondary schools is often focused on mastering grammar and expanding passive vocabulary. Students complete exercises and take numerous tests, but they have difficulty expressing themselves in a foreign language. Is this also your case? Our course, taught by a native speaker, will get you talking!"
This is a new course. It is not directly linked to any course in the previous semester and is therefore ideal for new students.
Who is the course for?
The course is intended for the age group of 12-16 years old.
What do I already know?
- You manage to follow basic conversation that is slowly spoken
- You understand basic phrases in common conversation, you manage to characterize people and things
- You can ask simple question and answer them
- You know basic grammar points
- You will speak only English
- The course is designed for students who need to talk and don’t want to put emphasis on grammar
- Less attention will be paid to grammar than in general English courses. The teacher will explain any grammar that gives the students trouble and which inhibits conversation
- Every lesson, the conversation will take place on a different topic, to be selected at the beginning of the course
- The teacher will offer a list of topics from which you can choose during the first class. Students can also suggest themes.

- Doprava MHD: Metro trasa B a C, Florenc a pak pěšky asi 2 minuty. Učebny se nacházejí v rohové oválné budově České spořitelny u magistrály, vstup je vedle kina Atlas.
- Doprava autem: Nedoporučujeme dopravu vlastním vozem. Případně lze použít parkoviště u autobusového nádraží Florenc nebo parkoviště pod magistrálou přes tramvajové koleje naproti McDonald's.
Who teaches this course?
Samantha Barrett
Samantha Barrett je kvalifikovaná lektorka angličtiny pocházející z Nového Zélandu. V roce 2025 absolvovala intenzivní TEFL kurz v Praze a od té doby se věnuje výuce angličtiny na plný úvazek. Samantha má zkušenosti s výukou všech věkových kategorií a ráda se specializuje na výuku online. Samantha ráda vytváří poutavé a promyšlené lekce, které podporují komunikaci a aktivní zapojení studentů.
