Introduction of the course
This course has been offered for the first time this semester. It is not a continuation course.
Who is this course for?
The course is designed for children in grades 3 to 5 at a lower-intermediate level.
What can the child already do and what does he/she know?
- They can ask about basic things (name, school, family).
- They know basic grammar (present tense, prepositions and comparison of adjectives), but need more practice.
The goal of the course is to get children speaking. A native speaker from an English-speaking country will encourage the children to use the vocabulary actively. They will learn to express themselves in English even if they don’t know the exact word for something, and they will overcome their shyness when speaking to a native speaker.
- Only English is spoken.Attachment:52
- Students will speak for most of the lesson. Grammar will only be covered if students struggle with a basic point.
- Each lesson will focus on a different topic, such as school, hobbies, sports, travel, the Czech Republic, giving directions, computers, the internet, and the cultures of the UK and USA.

- Doprava MHD: Metro trasa A, Hradčanská a pak asi 4 minuty pěšky podél tramvaje směrem k Pražskému hradu. Učebny jsou naproti izraelskému velvyslanectví.
- Doprava autem: Parkování v modré zóně na parkovacích hodinách, větší parkoviště je v ulici Na Valech.
Who teaches this course?
Stan Oickle
Stan Oickle patří mezi naše nejoblíbenější lektory. Pochází z Kanady, kde vystudoval grafický design a mnoho let pracoval jako designér na volné noze. V Praze Stan absolvoval kurz TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) a začal se věnovat výuce. Vede kurzy pro dospělé i děti. Stan je nesmírně trpělivý a přátelský učitel a velmi oblíbený mezi studenty.
